Embroidery samples created by hand and on an Irish embroidery machine. Embroidery techniques including gold work, beading, padding and cutout work.
Gold work Neckpiece
Commissioned project inspired by beak creatures in a church archway. Using a colour scheme of black, grey's and a pop of orange chosen by the client. Painted designs inspired by the creatures were narrowed down and samples created with different gold work and padding techniques. These will create a neck piece inspired by those worn by judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Dragon
Commissioned embroidered dragon sketched and sewn on the Irish machine. This was designed to go on the back of a smart white shirt as decoration.
Penguin
Commissioned penguin. First painted in water colour then sewn and mounted.

Playing Cards
Gold work and beading embroidery. Commissioned for a birthday present for a family that play cards together regularly.

Samples created in my final year at uni. Experimenting with different materials such as rubber gloves, brush bristles and metal ware.
